Development of the park

  • June 30 th 1996: Opening of Warner Bros. Movie World (on the site of the predecessor parks: Bavaria Filmpark, Traumlandpark, Märchenwald)
  • End 1999: Sale of the park to American amusement park operator Six Flags, Inc.
  • April 2004: Six Flags sells the Park to the British investment-firm Palamon Capital Partners
  • The StarParks Group is founded together with six other former European Six Flags Parks
  • 2005: Opening with the new name Movie Park Germany
  • 2006: The six sister parts are sold to the French company Compagnie des Alpes
  • 2007: Movie Park Germany enters in a far reaching cooperation with the TV channel NICK and opens the first Nickland in Europe.
