Opening of the 45 hectare amusement park Warner Bros. Movie World with a broad palette of attractions and shows about the topic movies.
The park is divided into five theme areas which are all based on famous Warner Bros. movies and successful German productions. The investment amount for the new park and the connected film studio was nearly 400 million Deutschmarks.

Opening of the first wooden roller coaster in Germany. Further new rides like the Top Spin Riddler’s Revenge and the Looney Tunes Tea Party are brought into operation.

Owner and manager of the park is now Six Flags, Inc. Five new rides are presented in the park: Blazing Saddles, Josie's Bathhouse, Tom & Jerry's Mouse in the House, Looney Tunes Carousel, and Marienhof Karussell. There are season tickets for the first time. |

The looping roller coaster, Eraser, and the children’s attraction, Tweety’s and Sylvester’s Treehouse, are opened. The Halloween Horror Fest becomes an audience magnet in October.
